FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – May 4, 2016 – Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC)

Sheriff Blake Dorning announced today that on April 29th, 2016 the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) executed a search warrant on Jody Wade Witt, white male, born on March 5th, 1974. The search warrant was executed in the 600 block of Ready Section Rd in reference to Child Pornography. The investigation was initiated based upon information received from the Santa Barbra California Sheriff’s Office that Witt was making contact with a 13 year old female and presenting himself as a 15 year old male. The impersonation resulted in what appeared to be some type of dating relationship via internet. There were several photos depicting personal body parts exchanged. Based on the age of the victim, the investigation was pushed forward quickly and Mr. Witt was identified by the ICAC Investigator. Mr. Witt was previously investigated by this agency and was on probation for Possession of Child Pornography. The ICAC Investigator having been able to complete analysis of the case charged Mr. Witt with additional counts of Possession of Child Pornography on May 3rd, 2016. His probation revocation process has also been initiated.

                   Jody Wade Witt arrests were based upon Probable Cause and they should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
