Sheriff Dorning announced today that on May 25, 2017 at approximately 2100 hours the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist a subject that was suffering from a gunshot wound that took place on the Blowing Cave Rd in Gurley, Alabama. Contact was made with the victim at a commercial business in Gurley, Alabama. HEMSI responded along with several County Fire units to render medical assistance to the victim. The victim was transported via MED FLIGHT to Huntsville Hospital. The victim appeared to have a single gunshot wound in the upper torso region of his body which was later determined be a non-life threatening injury. The preliminary investigation has revealed that several subjects were riding in a vehicle on Blowing Cave Road at which time shots were fired at the vehicle. At this time, the Criminal Investigations Division has developed persons of interest and the Investigation continues. No further information will be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
