FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- Arrest of Former Madison County Sheriff’s Office School Deputy

December 2, 2016

 

Sheriff Blake Dorning announced today that former Madison County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jerome Heard, age 42, was arrested in Knoxville, Tennessee on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 for a Fugitive from Justice charge. His arrest was based upon warrants obtained by Madison County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest warrants are for 2 counts of Rape 1st with a bond of $60,000 each, 2 counts of Rape 2nd with a bond of $30,000 each, 2 counts of Sodomy 1st with a bond of $60,000 each, and 1 count of Incest with a bond of $15,000.  The new warrants were issued based upon a recent complaint. He was previously a resident of Madison County who had been employed with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office since 2009.  He resigned on 1/4/2016 and has relocated out-of-state. He was also a former Huntsville Police Officer and served with them from 2003-2007. We are in the process of extraditing him from the State of Tennessee.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance if any additional information may be in the community about former Deputy Heard or if there is anyone that would like to come forward and speak with an investigator. Our Criminal Investigation Division number is 256-533-8820.

Heard arrest was based upon probable cause and he should be considered to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
